Technical Specialist - RDBMS, Oracle Architecture

• Work with the business analysts and enterprise architects to devise and propose the system solution to business problems or new opportunities; help prepare the proposals with the estimates and risks identification

• Perform project technical feasibility study and conduct technical solution workshops during the initial analysis phase

• Define, document and maintain the technical delivery method ensuring standardisation of all activities involved in the delivery of IT projects.

• For assigned projects, ensure all application construction or modification work associated with an assigned project is undertaken in compliance with technology roadmap provided by Enterprise Architect group

• For assigned projects, ensure that all project artefacts are constructed, compiled, packaged and documented in accordance with Technology development methodology, technical delivery method and quality gates

• Maintain knowledge of all Technology enterprise architecture developments and governance activities that impact technical delivery practices.

• Support and mentor delivery engineers who are interested in advancing to a solution architect role

• Undertake training and certification activities to maintain and document skills and safeguard ability to contribute to  Technology objectives.

• Build trusted relationships with business partners and proactively seek feedback on systems processes and personal performance

• B.E. / B.Tech. / MCA / MCM or equivalent  (Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted) with around 8 yrs of relevant industry experience

• ‘Hands on’ comprehensive experience of project lifecycle, with emphasis on architectural solution and data model. Proven track record of high-quality project deliveries and technical achievements

• Strong knowledge of Relational Databases concepts, Oracle Architecture.

• Experience in designing ER diagrams using data modelling tools (e.g. Erwin, ER Studio).

• Hands-on experience in developing / maintaining SQL statements (DML/DDL), Oracle procedures, Triggers, & Functions on Oracle, SQL Loader.

• Experience in data normalization and SQL Performance Tuning / performance optimisation techniques for large databases.

• Hands-on experience on Unix Shell Scripts

• Experience of best practices development methodologies, including Agile/DSDM/XP

• Excellent communication, documentation and presentation skills

Hands on experience in one or more of the following -

- Development of Informatica Mappings

- Datawarehousing fundamentals.

- Sybase database

- Related languages like Perl

- Oracle Forms

- Business Objects

- Java / J2EE / Websphere MQ

• Good understanding of Oracle XML DB.

• Configuration Management tools like SVN and ClearCase

• Exposure to Finance domain, particularly Mutual Funds business.
