Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure - Lead / Manager

Key responsibilities

We are looking for a highly motivated and seasoned Infrastructure Services Manager who will help manage, scale and support client facing mobile solutions delivered in the Software as a Service mode using Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure. You will work with in an exciting environment delivering highly scalable and business critical mobile services hosted on AWS.

Responsibilities –

1. Design/enhance the hosting architecture considering high scalability and costs
2. Ensure that all services are available 24x7. Design and deliver tools to support 24x7 availability and monitoring.
3. Resolve any critical PRODUCTION issues whenever they occur (24x7). Be available on nights and weekends to support/manage production issues if they occur.
4. Manage tasks/deliverables of other AWS team members
5. Review and augment backup strategy on an on-going basis
6. Plan/implement disaster recovery strategies
7. Work with US based team on communicating strategies for enhancing infrastructure on an on-going basis.

Qualifications:  

B E (Computer Science/Information Science Preferred)

Certifications:

AWS Certified - Mandatory

Skill Sets (Must to have):

• Thorough understanding and hands-on experience with EC2, RDS (and MySql on EC2) and other AWS cloud services.
• Experience with highly scalable infrastructure design using AWS auto scaling and other related features
• Familiarity with development and maintenance of infrastructure monitoring tools/services
• Knowledge of S3, ElastiCache, Route53, Cloud Front and VPC
• Knowledge of other AWS offerings including SES, IAM roles
• Strong shell scripting and networking skills
• Thorough understanding of Linux OS (Ubuntu) administration
• Great communication and team skills
• Knowledge of alternates to AWS services like Rackspace etc. would be advantageous 

Skill Sets (Good to have):

• Familiarity with Glassfish server
• Familiarity with MySQL server
