Purpose

As a member of the Software Quality Assurance (QA) team, the Software Development Engineer in Test II will be responsible for ensuring quality throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and performing systematic software testing via manual testing and test automation to ensure flawless delivery. The candidate will be responsible for writing and executing manual and automation test plans and test cases for all applicable test levels, reporting, and tracking defect resolution. The chosen candidate will be involved in the full SDLC from requirement reviews through release and post-live validation and will document deliverable artifacts collaborating with Software Engineers, Project Managers, and product stakeholders.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop, debug, and maintain both manual and automated test scripts and test cases
• Maintain manual and automated smoke/regression tests and create new feature test cases
• Report defects for code errors that are found during test runs
• Generate reports that reflect quality metrics and KPIs from manual and automated test runs
• Identifying and removing risks to quality for our software applications
• Contributing to a Scrum team that solves complex challenges and builds working software
• Identifying and resolving software inconsistencies, ambiguities and defects during the design and implementation phase of software building
• Carrying out root cause analysis on defects to ensure fixes are happening in the right way
• Ensuring proper communication on risks to quality
• Adhering to standard operating procedures and the collection of measures put in place to ensure consistency and improvement in the way we test software
• Contributing to the planning process to establish tasks and forecast work to be performed
• Asking the right questions at the right time to reduce quality risk

Job Requirements

Qualifications include:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Math or related is preferred
• 2-5 years of professional programming experience with C# and .NET framework
• 2-5 years of experience in writing manual and automated tests for Quality Assurance
• 2-5 years of experience creating API test cases
• 2-5 years of experience working with SQL
• Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) for Azure DevOps.
• Experience working with Azure DevOps/TFS for defect and test case management.
• Experience working with Test Frameworks like MSTest, NUnit, or other test frameworks
• Experience with generating quality metrics and reports from manual and automated test runs
• Working knowledge of Cloud technologies and principles.
• Knowledge and experience in working with Agile development methodology
• Has intimate knowledge of Quality Assurance best practices
• Has a proven track record of enforcing the Quality Assurance processes during the software development life cycle
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Quality Assurance certifications are a big plus (CTFL, CSTE, CSTP, etc..)
• Fluency in English
